Steamdeck, tech in general and my possible future without any screen
I am a human alien on Earth, but I am not alone…

Date: 2022-02-18

This is a personal post, started on fediverse, but I would rather post it here…

I have money for Steamdeck.

I would buy it.

Then after using it for a week, being excited, then it would probably be in the corner, unused.

Also probably I need a new monitor for it, since I still have one with no HDMI port.

So instead of 420 euros it would be 520 euros or 550 for me.

Although I bet maybe I could sell it for about 200 right?

I would also need to sell my computer, cause I have one screen policy (which I barely do since I have an ebook reader beside my desktop).

I think we are buying so many stuff, we really don't need. Capitalism is not the problem, but people's thinking what their life's worth.

Do you really think these devices add some value to your life long term, or just a short term fix for something else?

From the price of Steamdeck I can buy at least 38 books, or buy some new tools and build something, make something, and not just consume, consume, consume.

Awakening is not a switch, it's a process. And when I mention to people that maybe living in big cities with millions of other people, or not using so many tech stuff is not really human, they look at me like I am something alien (that's why I feel that twitch is so young compare to me - although there are exceptions).

Well, then I am an alien. Interesting recently I found many house building channels. People moving out to the nature, sometmes alone, sometimes with family. Wonderful human beings living in their house that they built.

I lived the 25 years of my life in front of a screen (big mistake), and I don't know if I will be able to reprogram myself. This is a real addiction that people either discover themself or not, most likely because everybody around them are addicts.

Let's hope it's not too late to find a meaningful life for me…
