As of 2021 December, I switched from dwm to xmonad. It's probably the most complicated tiling window manager, but it gives you freedom to build up your system as you want. It has a really steep learning curve.

Pcmanfm probaly the best graphical file manager I have ever used. It has everything a person needs. I especially like that you can filter files and folders just by typing.

Emacs is my love, my life - nah just kidding, it's just a simple text editor after all. You can use it for many things though, so be ready to go down in the rabbit hole.

As much as I liked Brave browser, I couldn't use it fully, since it doesn't support vertical tabs. I switched to LibreWolf - a Firefox fork with privacy focus - when I saw Sidebery on the fediverse. It's a great extension for vertical sidebar, tab grouping and much more. Only drawback is the abismal startup time: 45 seconds.

I will always like mpd & ncmpcpp duo, but recently switched to Qmmp purely for nostalgia reasons, cause it supports old Winamp skins.

I use Steam for 10 years now, long before Valve started supporting Linux. It's not my primary gaming platform, but I use it whenever something is not available on GOG.

A DRM-free platform, that let's you download installers without using a middleware software. While GOG Galaxy is an OK software (you need it for multiplayer games), I prefer the offline installers, since I can make backup of those and use it anywhere without a launcher or internet.
