About Fasting

Updated: 2021-11-19

Hi, everyone! This page will be a resource about fasting! Videos, articles that I have found useful, and other recommendations!

I slowly build this up, when I have time for it

My short history with fasting

A few years ago I tried it, and I failed, because my eating windows wasn't really good (it started to early), and looking back it was really a semi-serious attempt from me. This was around 2018 I think.

In July 2021, I had a luck to go on my first vacation in my life. I saw the sea, and beatiful Croatia. It was 2 weeks which changed my life more than one ways. One of them was that food was complicated to get. I used to cook for myself, but when you are not doing that you might miss breakfast, or launch, or dinner - sometimes. Eating at restaurants wasn't cheap, so I ate very irregularly. We went to the beach every day, spend the few hours there until 12-13 and come back to rest, then afternoon-evening went outside and do stuff.

When I went away I was 76.6 kg, and when I came back home I was 70.3 kg. I didn't know what to make of it at the time, and quickly gain back 5 kg. Only in mid August when I found a video about intermittent fasting, I connected the dots, that my "irregular meals" were actually my feeding periods. :)

So I started to do 16:8 (which means you eat in an 8 hour window only, usually 2 meals, one at the beginning and one at the end), and the rest is history. My weight is around 66 kg at the moment (as of end of October 2021), and for the first time in like 1,5 years I am at a normal weight.

I have recently switched to OMAD (one meal a day, usually at around 12-13) and I feel much better. Not just physically, but also mentally. I have more patience when I deal with people, and in general. I have much better focus, I don't think about food all the time, since I batch cook, and eat once. Out of sight, out of mind.
