International Day against DRM (2020)

Date: 2020-12-04

Yay, another Day day, when we do something, then forget about it for a year! Isn't it nice to forgot about stuff for a long time, then got a reminder, "hey this is important! get off of Netflix! stop using steam! don't use this, don't watch that!"

Anyway check out the guide of Defective by Design (made by FSF), for DRM-free books, audio and video stuff. Interestingly there are no links to GOG or itch.io, because they are just gaming stuff, and nobody cares about gaming.

Except gaming is a multi billion dollar industry, the biggest segment of our modern entertainment, multiple times bigger than movies. So yeah, no biggie FSF, just because Linux gaming is now largely just "Windows gaming on Linux" with Steam Proton, doesn't mean it's not important.

So yeah, check out GOG and Itch.io, for your gaming needs. Recenly GOG acquired the Batman Arkham series, which started in 2009 and had influence some of the biggest names in gaming today.

Itch.io has some of the best indie offerings. If you are a single developer, your best bet to get some eyes on your project.

There are also some other days, people should care about like:

every day —

This is for day 93 of #100daystooffload, it looks like I can finish this challenge.

Hosted on Neocities and created with Emacs, the world best text editor, operating system. This website doesn't track you. I don't use any javascript or other scripts. I don't store any information about the visitors. It's just pure old fashioned HTML. Some parts of the site is not up-to-date design wise. I may or may not update them in the future. I don't really support mobile stuff, but I bet if you disable the little CSS I have, you can read the site perfectly.
