On Friday I made a commitment to myself: no social media for this weekend. This includes pleroma, youtube (except ASMR, Jimmy Broadbent, music and funny videos - however exclude vegan debates, and others), and reddit.
I've never done this before, I was always kind of an addict. Like even if I knew that it's bad for me, because I could be so angry sometimes, and I just couldn't stay away, and checking many times what others are saying. It's not healthy for me, and it was clearly an addiction. I gave too much crap what others are saying either about me, or the stuff I am interested in.
It's much better now though. I never had a smartphone and my tablet is just sitting in the drawer (it has screen problems, basically useless), and I can control my urge much better, than before. However I felt that this week for me was a little bit too much on pleroma and I wanted to take a break. It's also a challenge for me, and I am so glad I am doing this. Here is how my Friday went and a possible result of it.
Honestly I didn't play the original Shadow Warrior that much. I played Duke Nukem 3D a lot more back in the day. But it was a nice game, since who doesn't want to use a sword in an FPS game?
Later when the first reboot came out, we could only dream that Shadow Warrior would come to Linux, but eventually it did, and I bought it. While I don't have a good computer for modern gaming, it run well enough for me to be enjoyable. I still haven't completed it though.
Recently I got Shadow Warrior 2 from the GOG giveaway, and I wanted to rant about it after 5 hours of play.
Here are some of picks for this week of GOG sales. As I am a big fan of DRM-free stuff and GOG in general I thought, that from time to time I will collect some games for you. I like every kind of game, and try to create a good mix.
Too much fighting, debates, instead of doing
I know, I know, last week I missed it again. So here I am today, with some of my favorite interesting things. I fixed some elfeed problems during the weekend, so I can go back to reading and give every of my 10 readers some happy and sad stories. Let's go!
For the 10th anniversary of GOG, we got a nice suprise from the Polish company. People could vote from 3 games (Shadow Warrior 2, Superhot and Firewatch), to be free for a limited time. While I really wanted to have Superhot, because I thought it is an interesting game, and despite my small effort in the fediverse, campaigning till the last hour (this sentence is so hyperbole, and funny, I laugh as I write this).
Well the people have spoken and the free game become Shadow Warrior 2. Here is my experience with the game, and how I make it work, on my not so great machine.
